What is a QR code?

A QR (Quick Response) code is a square barcode a phone camera can read. Scanning one opens a website, saves a contact, joins a WiFi network, or does another action you set when you make it.

This generator adds no watermark and no tracking, and it runs in your browser, so your logo and details never leave your device. The codes are yours to use for personal or commercial work.

QR codes still scan when part of them is damaged or covered. That is how a logo can sit in the middle: when you add one, we switch to High error correction, which rebuilds up to 30% of the code. Every code you make here is read back by a test scanner before you download it.

Before you print

  1. Test it

    Scan the code with a couple of phones. Check that it opens the right thing and scans at the size you will print.

  2. Make it big enough

    At least 1 inch (2.5 cm) square for a phone at arm's length. Scale up for posters and signs read from farther away.

  3. Keep the contrast high

    A dark code on a light background scans best. Pale colors and light-on-dark codes fail on some phones.

  4. Say what it does

    Use the frame text, or put a line like "Scan for the menu" next to the code.
