Softaculous
Push to Live in Softaculous
Move your tested staging site changes to your live production website in one step.
After testing changes on your staging site, Push to Live copies them to your production site automatically.
Prerequisites
You must have both a staging installation and a live installation in Softaculous. Both must be WordPress (or the same app).
Step 1: Find the Staging Installation
Log in to cPanel → Softaculous → All Installations. Find your staging site.
Step 2: Push to Live
Click the Push to Live icon (upload arrow). A form appears:
- Push to Installation: Select your live website from the dropdown
- What to Push:
- Files — overwrite live files with staging files
- Database — overwrite live database with staging database (careful — this removes any orders/posts added on live since staging was last cloned)
- Core files — WordPress core files
Selective Push
You can push just files (if you only changed theme files) or just the database (if you only changed content), reducing risk.
Step 3: Confirm
Double-check the destination. Click Push. Softaculous will copy the staging data to live.
After Pushing
- Clear caches (server-side and CDN) on your live site
- Test the live site thoroughly
- Update permalinks in WordPress Settings → Permalinks if URLs seem broken
