Installing WordPress

WordPress powers over 40% of the web. Installing it on 330 Hosting takes under 5 minutes.

Method 1: Softaculous (Recommended)

The fastest and easiest way:

1. Log in to cPanel → Softaculous Apps Installer
2. Click WordPress → Install
3. Fill in your domain, site title, and admin credentials
4. Click Install

Your site is live immediately at yourdomain.com. Admin panel at yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

Method 2: Manual Installation

For advanced users or custom setups:

1. Download WordPress from wordpress.org
2. Create a MySQL database and user in cPanel (note all credentials)
3. Upload the WordPress files to /public_html via FTP or File Manager
4. Extract if zipped
5. Visit yourdomain.com in your browser — the WordPress setup wizard launches
6. Enter your database credentials when prompted
7. Complete the 5-minute install wizard

After Installation

• Log in to wp-admin
• Change the default "Sample Page" and "Hello World" post
• Install an SSL certificate (free from 330 Hosting)
• Install a security plugin (Wordfence recommended)
• Set up backups (UpdraftPlus is free and excellent)

Tips

• Use a non-obvious admin username (not "admin")
• Set your site URL to https:// (not http://) in Settings → General
