Most people we talk to about Weebly are not web people. They run a shop or a service business, somebody built the site once, and it has been quietly sitting there since.
Nothing Breaks Tomorrow
Your Weebly site is still up and it will stay up while we work. This is not an emergency. It is a thing to handle on purpose, at a normal pace, instead of the week it finally stops.

When Weebly is the better choice
There are good reasons to leave this alone, and we would rather say them out loud than sell you a rebuild you do not need.
You take payments through Square in your shop
If you ring people up on a Square reader and your website is mostly hours, a menu, and a Buy button, Square Online keeps all of that in one account with one set of fees. Moving to WordPress would split what is currently in one place. That is a real reason to stay.
The site is five pages and never changes
If it lists your hours and a phone number and has not been edited since 2019, it is doing its job. Paying to rebuild it does not make the phone ring more. Keep it, and spend the money on something that does.
You are about to close or sell the business
Do not rebuild a website you are handing to somebody else in six months. Let the buyer decide.
You already learned the Square Online editor
If you can update your own site today and you are comfortable in it, that comfort has value. WordPress is more capable and it is also a new thing to learn.
If you are staying, one thing worth doing anyway: request the site archive from Weebly and save it somewhere that is not that account. It costs nothing and it is the only copy you will have if something goes wrong.
The move
What switching actually involves
Weebly sites cannot be exported into WordPress as working sites. What we do is save everything that exists, then rebuild it properly, which is slower than a copy and gives you a better site at the end.
A normal five to ten page Weebly rebuild takes one to two weeks, most of which is waiting for you to look at it. We will tell you the real number for your site before you commit to anything.
We look at the site with you on the phone
Which pages matter, which ones you forgot were there, what the forms do, whether anything sells online, and what you have always wished it said instead. Twenty minutes.
We save everything that exists
Weebly can email you an archive of the site. That archive is a useful record and a source for files, but it is not something that can be imported back into a website as a working site. So we also copy your text, photos, and page structure by hand, and take screenshots of every page.
We rebuild it in WordPress
Same information, same pages, working on phones, with your photos and your wording. If you want it to look better than it did, that is web design work and we quote it separately so you can see what you are paying for.
You look at it before anybody else does
It sits on a temporary address and you click every page and tell us what is wrong. Your Weebly site is still the live one at this point. Nothing has changed for your customers.
We check the email question, then move the address
If your email runs through Weebly or Square, we set up mailboxes here and test them first. Then we change where your domain points. Most sites are fully switched within a business day.
Questions
Is Weebly actually going away?
Square owns Weebly and has been moving people to Square Online for years. Weebly has not been getting meaningful new features. Whether it switches off on a particular date is not something anyone outside Square can promise you. What is safe to say is that it is not the product being invested in, and that is enough reason to have a plan.
Do I lose my website while you work?
No. Your Weebly site stays live the entire time. Nothing your customers see changes until you have approved the new one and told us to go ahead.
Will my web address stay the same?
Yes. Your domain name does not change. We change where it points. If the domain is registered through Weebly or Square we help you move the registration too, or leave it there and just point it here.
What about my email?
We check where your mail actually runs first. If it is a Gmail address, nothing changes at all. If it runs on your domain through Square, we set the mailboxes up here, copy the mail, and test it before the website moves.
