How to Set Up an Email Autoresponder in cPanel
Send automatic replies when you're out of office or need to confirm receipt of inquiries.
Autoresponders send automatic replies to incoming emails — perfect for out-of-office notices, confirmation messages, or vacation replies.
Step 1: Open Autoresponders
Log in to cPanel → Email section → Autoresponders.
Step 2: Add an Autoresponder
Click Add Autoresponder.
Step 3: Configure the Response
- Character Set — leave as UTF-8
- Interval — how many hours before the same sender gets another response (e.g., 24)
- Email — the address that will send the autoresponse
- From — the display name
- Subject — e.g., "Re: Your message" or "We received your inquiry"
- Body — your message text
Step 4: Set Dates (Optional)
Check Start and Stop to limit the autoresponder to a date range (useful for vacations).
Click Create/Modify to save.
Tips
- Keep autoresponder messages brief and professional
- Include alternative contact information or expected response times
- Disable the autoresponder when you return to avoid confusion
