Softaculous
Using the WordPress Manager by Softaculous
Manage all your WordPress installations from one dashboard — update, secure, and monitor them all.
The WordPress Manager gives you a centralized dashboard to manage every WordPress installation on your hosting account.
Opening WordPress Manager
Log in to cPanel → Software → WordPress Manager by Softaculous (or go through Softaculous → WordPress → Overview).
Dashboard Overview
The main screen lists all WordPress installations with:
- Version number (with update availability indicator)
- URL
- Last backup date
- Status indicators
Updating WordPress
Click the Update button on any installation showing an available update. You can bulk-update all installations at once.
Managing Plugins and Themes
Click an installation → Plugins or Themes to see installed items, check for updates, activate/deactivate, or delete — all without logging into each WordPress admin separately.
Security Scan
Click Security for a quick scan showing known vulnerabilities, weak passwords, or outdated files.
Staging and Cloning
From the WordPress Manager, you can create staging sites and clone installations with fewer steps than going through the main Softaculous interface.
Tips
- Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins up to date — outdated software is the #1 cause of hacked sites
- The Manager can update all installations in bulk — great for agencies managing multiple sites
- Enable auto-updates for minor WordPress releases (security patches) under each installation's settings
